Importance of the DAS28 and adjusting medication

The DAS28 is a great instrument that can help you and your rheumatology team to obtain a disease activity as low as possible. Research has shown that your disease activity will decrease if the DAS28 is measured at every outpatient visit, and if the medication is adjusted  in case the DAS28 score is higher than 3.2. If your disease activity is as low as possible, or at least below 3.2, you have less chance of damaged joints, which allows for a better function and quality of life in the long run: and you will feel better, have less pain and will be less fatigued.
